安妮的男友阿里克斯是一名出色的警探，但他一直对安妮隐瞒了自己的身份。当安妮得知真相后，认为阿里克斯不该欺骗自己，两人之间产生了隔阂。为了缓解紧张气氛，阿里克斯买了去往加勒比海的豪华游轮船票，带上安妮开始了他们的旅行。 在这艘游轮上，隐藏着一个可怕的人物，他就是专门设计轮船电脑操作系统的工程师基格。基格因为患病被公司解雇，因此对社会充满仇恨，他利用自己的专长对油轮的系统做了手脚。 就在船上的游客沉浸在旅行带来的喜悦中时，基格悄悄控制了整艘游轮。他要求全体人员用救生艇逃生，却在人们爬上救生艇后至大家于死地。阿里克斯和安妮一个协助船员寻找基格，破坏由基格控制的系统，一个引导游客们逃往安全地带。 救生艇上的人终于被安全救下，基格一计不成又施一计，他控制游轮方向，想要让船撞上一艘停泊在海中央的大型油轮。阿里克斯再一次拯救了全体游客。但基格却抓走了安妮作为人质，逃上了一艘小型快艇。 游轮虽然躲过这一劫，但它的速度使它冲向海滩。在这里到处是休闲的人们和嬉戏的孩子，但游轮上的人却没有
