剧情介绍

　　北方某大城市的省报上，刊登了一篇《有胆识骏马，无畏护良才》的文章，介绍电器厂党支部书记叶润芳尊重知识、尊重人才，大胆起用知识分子黄炎夫，使企业扭亏为盈的先进事迹。三轻局长梁正本看完报道，十分高兴，因为黄炎夫是他和叶润芳冒着丢官、坐牢的风险，保护多年的知识分子。黄炎夫去报考高级工程师，梁局长等人亲自送他赴考场答辩，并透露消息准备任命他当三轻局总工程师。不久，市委开始酝酿三轻局新领导班子人选，有消息传出梁局推荐叶润芳任局党委书记。当何处长征求叶润芳对局领导班子人选的看法时，她出人意料地推荐党外人士黄炎夫担任三轻局局长。在局系统召开的下属企业党政一把手座谈会上，梁局长热情地请黄炎夫讲话。谁知性格直爽、棱角分明的黄炎夫语出惊人，会场顿时一片沉寂，随后议论纷纷。他的话触动了许多企业领导，梁局长也微微皱起双眉。黄炎夫回到家中，妻子和女儿都责怪他不该在会议上"冒炮"。这使他回想起在十年动乱中经历的磨难。那次会议以后，一贯器重知识分子的梁局长对叶润芳和黄炎夫有了戒心。尤其是叶润芳在电视上接受记者采访的讲话，更加触怒了梁局长。他们受到厂内外舆论的猛烈攻击。黄炎夫面对现实，为了叶润芳能继续留在三轻局，向局里递交了辞职报告。梁局长面对他的辞职报告异常不安。叶润芳不顾个人得失，再次如实向上级机关反映了黄炎夫的情况，受到有关领导的重视。在省委会议室，省长告诉梁局长，黄炎夫已被提名为副省长候选人，准备交省人大会议讨论。对此结局，梁局长、叶润芳和黄炎夫感慨万千。
