在东京都内的高级住宅区发生连环宠物狗被杀事件，电视台报道员铃木香织(星野真里)目击了受欢迎的女演员福江弓子(後藤真希)遗弃死去的爱犬的场面，但是弓子反驳说自己也是爱犬杀害事件的受害者。香织在电视台的压力下停了职。香织对弓子不满，开始和同事安田明(西村和彦)调查弓子，发现3年前，是小剧团的女演员的弓子，在剧团的首席女演员北冈美穗(高冈早纪)的介绍下，在女性同性恋汇集的酒吧打工。香织前往女同志酒吧，在与吧主419后得知弓子当时被偶然相识的单身生活的社长夫人生方恒子(万田久子)包了下来，而对弓子的十分热衷的恒子，后来因为弓子爱的不是自己而绝望自杀。并且，介绍弓子来打工的美穗半年前也被杀了。据当时的报道，美穗的遗体旁边有爱犬的尸体，而从现场的状况和邻居的证言来看，犯人是与美穗很亲近的人。于是香织推测犯人是弓子。香织跑去问弓子有关恒子和美穗的事，弓子承认了三人之间的三角关系，原来美穗也喜欢弓子，并不惜为她放弃首席女演员之位，而嫉妒的恒子用菜刀划破了美穗的脸，然后在自己家里服用大量的安眠药自杀。美穗受了伤，于是弓子代替她成了主角。在美穗的帮助下一跃成了红角儿的弓子被大导演三枝公明（石田純一）看上了，一心想要成名的弓子选择了和导演结婚。被抛弃的美穗用分手费开了间酒吧，然而还是不能忘情。于是美穗后来又去找弓子，威胁她说当日两人对服安眠药的恒子见死不救是共犯，情急之下，弓子勒死了美穗。香织要弓子去自首，弓子却说这只不过是个编造的故事，而且香织也没有任何证据。于是香织开始寻找证据，然而她能找到吗，她为什么对弓子的事咬住不放呢，真的只是怨恨弓子害她被停职吗？
